What an exciting time to be in Hawke’s Bay. The place is bursting at the seams and clever people are sprouting up innovative off-shoots here there and everywhere. This is what makes it such a special time to be launching ourselves as InHouse Marketing, and I’m looking forward to meeting more of the hard-working business people who are working so hard on their business that they might just need to come up for some air.
As for me, I guess you’d say I’m a bit of a marketing and business all-rounder. As my career has developed I’ve realised I like to wear multiple hats (you’ve got to keep life interesting!), and have developed a passion for getting things done and seeing business thrive.
My 10 years’ experience in senior management and co-ordination roles has seen me exposed to varied business models including those in the wine, high-end construction technology, distribution and financial services sectors.
In my early 20’s I quickly rose up the ranks in the insurance industry, holding a senior management role as Service and Marketing Manager for what is now known as Credit Union’s Co-Op Insurance NZ. This role provided the foundations for my career since, and I carry the key lessons learnt then into my work today.
I opted for a change of scenery after that and spent a few years in Melbourne, where I enjoyed working in the high-end construction technology sector for international market leader FRAMECAD. This role exposed me to some commensurate professionals and broadened my skills in marketing, customer relationship management and solution-based sales for business-to-business.
Since returning to Hawke’s Bay and settling down, with the fun of having a toddler in the mix, I have honed my skills in marketing through roles in the wine and tourism sectors, and more recently with Cole Murray in the financial services arena. You could say I’m just as comfortable in a boardroom as I am on a forklift!
Now focused on spreading some roots, my passion is in making marketing accessible to all through our exciting new InHouse Marketing venture. I simply love to help local businesses achieve their potential through customer-centric marketing, and helping them leverage technology by underpinning it with strong business process.
Business success for me comes from being strategic, taking positive action and achieving results that translate directly to the bottom line. It’s about a process of continual learning and adapting, and I’d love to go on that journey with you.
