I have enjoyed a career spanning a bit longer than I care to remember at times! After working in the banking and industrial sectors for several years and then raising a family, including fellow director Jodi Dalzell, I felt the need to broaden my horizons work-wise, as my girls grew up.
I’d always had a bit of a bent for the written word and my interests in marketing and communications arose out of a 12-year stint in the tertiary education sector, at the highly respected Eastern Institute of Technology. The institute was in a real growth phase then, and grew from around 1000 equivalent full-time students to over 2500. Signing off my time there as the Marketing Team’s Communications Manager and 2IC, I had picked up some great digital skills and learning along the way.
In 2003, I moved into the tourism industry, where my passion for people and building relationships saw me working as Executive Officer for the Hawke’s Bay Wine Country Tourism Association and as part of the wider Hawke’s Bay Tourism team up until late 2013.
I am a current board member of the Hawke’s Bay Tourism Industry Association, having been invited to join the board in 2014 by then Chairman Sam Orton. I also serve, along with my younger daughter Stacey, as a trustee for the Rainbow Umbrella Charitable Trust, a charity raising awareness of issues and helping children with disabilities and their families.
I’ve been back working in marketing and digital project management in a purer sense for the last four years and am now really excited by the opportunities we have ahead of us in this new venture at InHouse Marketing.
Our passion for outstanding service and combined skills means we know how to focus on your needs as a client and to bring successful projects together across a broad range of sectors.
I look forward to meeting you soon,
Megan
